Should The Voting Age Be Lowered?

After the Marjory Stoneman shooting in Parkland, politicians have been advocating for the voting age to be lowered. Ironically, they're silent about this idiotic leadership in Broward county, but that's a discussion for another time. Leftists are advocating for the voting age to be lowered to the age of 16. Why is it you need to be 21 to be able to drink, purchase alcohol, get your concealed carry license, apply for a license (e.g. airships), but at the age of 18, you're able to vote or join the military? You're "old enough" to vote and sign up for the armed forces at 18, but not old enough to drink or be allowed to carry? This makes zero sense. For me, this is a no brainer. No 16-year-old understands the importance of voting. To be frank, most 18-year-olds don’t understand the importance of voting either.

The first problem is that most 16, 17, or even 18-year-old students don't have the wisdom or maturity to make informed decisions when voting. They have little to no understanding of the world or how it works. They don't understand the effects of big government or taxation has. In Gainesville, where UF is located (my school), the mayor keeps raising taxes, and students are upset. But they keep voting in Democrats, and don’t realize their mistake. Most will vote based on (influenced by) what their parents say, what their guidance counselor (or likewise) say, or what the media says. Everyone can admit they weren't mature enough to make the best decisions when they were 16, so allowing them to vote? "My concern is if 16-year-olds were allowed to vote on any kind of broad scale, what we'd actually be doing is bringing the least politically informed, the least politically experienced, the least mature in terms of making long-term judgments and trade-offs, directly into and potentially affecting our voter turnout and results," says David Davenport, researcher at Hoover Institution. I'm all for having a voice in elections, but this brings me to my next point.

Another reason lowering the voting age is a bad idea is that most teenagers don't care about voting. A small percentage in the 18-29 year group come out and vote. They simply don't care. That's why I always joke how "People my age will complain about issues happening, yet don't go to the one place where they can make a change. The polling booth." Students lack the basic understanding of this country's founding and its core values. There is not enough education for students on civics. Yes, we all took civic exams in high school or even college. So what? Any student will agree with me on this: when you see the word exam, you're only looking to get a good grade. Therefore, you don't focus so much on what is taught, you're focusing on getting that good grade. Professors even know this. One of my professors told our class he hates exams because students won't focus on the usefulness of the material, you'll only focus on the passing grade. I'll be fair. When I was 16, I didn't care about politics either. I only started paying close attention during the 2016 election, which was my senior year of high school. That's what I'm trying to say though. Why bring out the least educated on politics out to vote? Well, it all goes back to what I always say.

Now, do I think it's impossible to get students to understand civics? No! The voting age got lowered to 16 in Austria, and the students there have a working knowledge about civics, and tend to vote like the older generation votes. Gavin Rollins said his students had an extremely high success rate in civics because of how he presented the information. So it's possible that students can learn civics. Gov. DeSantis of Florida made a requirement that students pass civics. That’s good, but we need to ensure they remember the information taught.

My final reason I don't think the voting age should be lowered is because of how the Left will use this newfound power. The Left wants 16-year-old people to vote is because they are easily influenced. The same way they want felons and illegal immigrants to vote. The media already manipulates grown men and women, so imagine the impact they'll have on this age group. We could lower the voting age to 16, but the Left would pounce to indoctrinate every 16-year-old. The GOP also has a serious PR problem. Why don't they go out spreading the truth of the Republican party? I'm not saying indoctrinate. However, we could be a lot more impactful if they did this. Now, I'm not the only one who thinks lowering the voting age is a bad idea. Forget friends and family, I'm talking about different polls. A 2019 Hill-HarrisX poll showed 75% of the subjects of this poll didn't support 17-year-olds being allowed to vote, and a whopping 84% didn't agree with 16-year-olds voting.

Nobody's brain truly matures until mid-20s. I'm a special case because of my situation with my brother, which I've explained before. I don't think this responsibility of voting should be given to 16-year-olds. I personally agree that the voting agree should be raised from 18. I think it should be like most other things we can't do until we're 21. Or lower the drinking age to 18. All jokes aside, the voting age shouldn't be lowered, it should be raised. 16-year-olds don't have the maturity to understand the importance of voting, so I think they'll appreciate these things when they're older.

Do you think the voting age should be raised or lowered? Comment down!!

Please keep the family of George Floyd in your prayers. What happened to him was a major wrong. Plain evil. But also pray for the businesses and individuals affected by those who think burning and looting is somehow justice. Neither is right. Burning and looting is not justice.

What Is Autism?

Today is World Autism Awareness Day! April is Autism Awareness month. For the month of April, I'll be doing Autism-related posts, so I'm very excited!! If you're looking for politics this month, it won't be around for anytime soon. Sally Phillips said, "The siblings of special needs are quite special. Absolutely accepting and loving, from birth, of someone who is different mentally and has a different way of seeing the world, is a wonderful trait. It's a trait I wish there was another way of getting, but there isn't. And it does involve a degree of not having it fantastically easy." I hope everyone learns something they didn't know before. So, what is Autism?

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a developmental disorder that affects communication and behaviors in a person. Communication and social skills are heavily affected. These can include limited eye contact, narrow range of interests, back-and-forth communication, and more. Behaviors are affected because they don’t have the mental cognition to understand proper behaviors, so this can include screeching at an unfamiliar noise or randomly crying. According to the CDC, 1 in 59 children are diagnosed with ASD. Boys are four times more likely to have Autism. As of right now, there is no known cause for autism, therefore, no cure. Diagnosis is usually found between the ages of 2-4. Simon Baron-Cohen, the leading researcher in ASD, had done a study, which I read in Milo Yiannopoulos' Dangerous. He found that autism was systematized, rather than emphasized. Simon found the female babies were more emphatic, while the male babies were more systemic. This has possible explanation for why ASD is found more in boys than girls, so that was interesting to read.

There are other conditions associated with ASD, such as schizophrenia, Sensory Processing Disorder, epilepsy, issues with sleeping, OCD, and more. SPD is when a person doesn’t receive sensory signals correctly. Something as simple as touching their arm could feel like needles hitting them. For children with ASD, their body and brain don’t work together. Imagine this: when you (an able-bodied person) looks at a tree, what do you see? The limbs, the trunk, some leaves. Someone with ASD looks at a tree, and sees everything at once. The leaves, the trunk, and the branches are melded into one, and they can’t comprehend that, which can lead into a “meltdown.” A meltdown is basically when someone with ASD’s emotions explode. That’s why many with ASD take speech, occupational, or physical therapy, or even a combination of the three. To help the brain and body learn how to work as one.
There were branches of autism, but in 2012, it all became categorized under the term “Autism Spectrum Disorder.” Those diagnosed before 2012 kept their specific diagnosis, but I still think you should know about these branches of autism.
  • Asperger’s Syndrome: This is on the “high” end of the Autism spectrum. Most with Asperger’s are able to speak and care for themselves. They just have poor social skills.
  • Rett's Syndrome: More common in females, Rett starts out mild with some hand flapping or jumping. More severe symptoms are present later in life, and that individual will need lifelong care.
  • Childhood Disintegrative Disorder (CDD): This is a rare form of Autism, where the child appears to be developing normally, then all of a sudden, begins to digress (i.e. not making eye contact anymore).
  • Pervasive Developmental Disorder Not Otherwise Specified (PDDNOS): Like Asperger’s, PDDNOS is a mild form of autism. They may have social and developmental delays, but most are able to care for themselves and need small treatments (i.e. dietary restrictions, occupational therapy).
  • Kanner’s Syndrome (classical Autism): Considered the “norm” of Autism, this is where little to no communication is found, high sensory issues, or issues understanding/communicating with others, a more severe form of ASD.

Why is autism important to me? The day before my brother's (righthand image) 3rd birthday, he was diagnosed with ASD. Even though nothing was said to say my brother was autistic, or something was “wrong” with him, my mom said I had an intuition, and I was 5 at the time of his diagnosis. She said I went to my brother, gave him one of my toys, and hugged him. Joshua is a toe-walker, nonverbal, not potty-trained, and incapable of caring for himself. Even though it’s hard, and it can get extremely stressful (especially with Covid-19), I still love him. I thank God I have someone as amazing as him in my life. That's why I got a tattoo for him (lefthand image)! I'll discuss my life with autism later on this month. Stay tuned!

In closing, autism affects us more than we know. These numbers grew rapidly from the time autism was becoming known to the present. But autism isn't the problem. It's society not being accepting or not understanding of those who are different. My brother cannot help if he's listening to Blake Shelton with his earphones on, and he starts flapping his hands or screeching. I don't appreciate the dirty looks. I can't tell you how annoyed that makes me. If you see someone acting "out of the usual," don't jump the gun and judge them. Take a minute to understand they might have something mentally wrong with them. I hope this educated you on what autism is.

Still have questions on autism? Put them in the comments: I'll answer them as best as I can!

Coronavirus

About time I did a post about Coronavirus! It's been all over the news. The WHO has declared a global pandemic for the virus. There's three types of people who fit into the whole Coronavirus pandemic: the first are those who say this is like the flu and don't worry/care, the second are those thinking this is the apocalypse, and the third say it's neither the flu nor the apocalypse, but we should still be wary. Everyone is viewing this differently, and now, it's become a political issue. China is now being accused of lying and covering up. Celebrities and politicians have gotten it, and hospitals didn't prepare for a worst-case scenario like an outbreak. Colleges have made students go online in the middle of the semester. Regular schools have been shut down for a month. I was glad to see President Trump call for a national state of emergency, so state and local governments can get financial assistance. As for the vaccine being created, I'm 50/50 on it, but that's a discussion for another time.

Let's start out simple with what Covid-19 is. Back in December, Wuhan, China began to notice many citizens getting ill. It spread quickly through interactions with others. Anyone who traveled to China had gotten this illness. People started to die from the sickness, and when the United States had its first confirmed case, panic set in. Here's what I have learned. According to the World Health Organization, 80%-84% of people who get infected with Covid-19 only experience mild symptoms (i.e. fever, dry cough, shortness of breath), then 14% have more severe issues, and 5% had critical issues. If you're elderly, sickly, or both, you're at a higher risk, especially if you traveled to any of the affected countries (i.e. China, Italy). They need to be cared for. But most of us who might get it will recover. Except abortion, according to the CDC, the leading causes of death in 2019 in the US were heart disease (647,457), cancer (almost 600,000), and abortion murdered over 1 million babies. So far this year, over 8 million babies were killed by abortion worldwide. To see the numbers climb so rapidly made my stomach turn. The flu killed thousands last year, yet no one panicked, but mainstream media doesn't tell you that.

What I don't buy into is the mass hysteria MSM and the Democrats are pushing. They keep claiming that Republicans are the reason nothing is being done, or that Trump is "racist" (as per usual) for banning travels to most countries. Instead of saving Americans' lives, they want to fight Trump at every turn. This is simple proof at how the government can cause everything to be shut down in our lives. Even this whole thing with toilet paper. Mainstream media says there's a shortage of toilet paper worldwide, yet suppliers say it's not true. I read an article from Facebook that made a lot of sense. Even though it's a lie that we're running out of toilet paper, why do they say that? They want to see how quickly Americans and chaos ensues. That’d require martial law (shutdown of the government). A coup could then happen with someone like Joe Biden or Bernie Sanders, then the elites would have control of the nation. It's that easy. That's why you've got people who don't care enough about Covid-19; everything MSM says is garbage, so no one takes them seriously. NYT originally called Coronavirus "Wuhan Virus," yet when Trump does it, it's racist; MSNBC has said the same. "Do as I say, not as I do." Democrats will do anything to push their agenda, including making a resolution for Covid-19 to allow taxpayer-funded abortion, but AOC says its pro-lifers who are pushing their ideologies.

I don't think this is what's going to "kill mankind," but I also think you should be cautious. Don't go out as often to avoid anyone who could be worse-off infected. You should be stocked up on food and other essential items, in case of an emergency. Clean every surface, wash your hands, and start taking supplements or foods that will build your immune system. A strong immune system will fight off a disease better. Here are tips to build your immune system:
  • Get sleep.
  • Drink plenty of water.
  • Eat foods high in antioxidants (i.e. any berries, purple fruits/vegetables).
  • Use antimicrobial oils like oregano, thyme or lemon.
  • Eat foods good for your gut. A healthy gut is an important part of your immune system.
  • Take Vitamin C.
  • Make/buy elderberry syrup.
These are effective ways to prevent sickness. I got sick with a sinus cold (allergies are bad in Florida), but I didn’t get as sick as I normally would BECAUSE I’ve been building my immune system (but keep my brother in your prayers, he’s still sick with his sinuses).

I don’t think Coronavirus should be ignored. It’s affecting everyone, even those who aren’t sick. Our lives have been temporarily changed. This won't last forever. Just remain calm. Keep our President in your prayers because he is getting relentless criticism. There is no need to say, “It’s the end of mankind as we know it.” Truthfully, I don't know what will happen in the next month. Things are changing every week. Just pray, have supplies, build your immune system, and stay inside for the 15 days. We’ll get through this, just like we got through other diseases in the past. To close, I saw this on Facebook, and it's encouraging for these worrying times: "The same God who protected Daniel in the lion's den will protect you and your family from the virus and any other diseases."

Are you worried about Covid-19? Why/why not? Comment down!!

An Interview With Gavin Rollins

Fresh off his Fox & Friends interview, I got to speak with Gavin Rollins. He's a Republican candidate currently running for Congress. I first met Rollins when Don Jr. spoke at UF. I'd run into him at political events. He mentioned doing something for my blog, so that's how the interview was set up! Here's his website, and interview on F&F (click the left image)! https://gavinrollins.com/
Be sure to like him on Facebook! https://www.facebook.com/gavinbrollins/

1. Question: “Tell me about yourself.”
Answer:
“My parents were missionaries in Malaysia, so I was born over there, then returned home when I was two to the Keystone Heights/Melrose area. I mainly lived in Northeast Florida, except for a couple of active duty stints with the military for training in various locations throughout the country, and overseas for a deployment. I went to Keystones Heights High School, then to Santa Fe College, then the University of Florida. While attending UF, I joined the Florida National Army Guard as a private first class and became a paralegal specialist and served in the National Guard, and did ROTC at UF. I’ve been in the Florida National Guard for about 14 years. While I was at UF, I also ran for City Council in Keystone Heights, which is a small town. Only 1500 people, so I was elected by 3 votes. The margin of victory was 3 votes. I served on there, fought against the tax increase my first year, then got reelected the next year to a three-year term, while I attended UF and doing ROTC. I graduated from UF in 2011, and went on active duty for some military training. Coming back, I worked as a communication director, worked on updating our internal and external communication for the Clay County school district. We made the websites across the district for parents. I did official Facebook pages and started using videos as a way to communicate to the public when before, we only used press releases, so we reformed communication. Being around education and education policy inspired me to go into the classroom to teach, so I started working on my Master’s in Education and Leadership. I also ran for County Commission, and was elected to Clay County Commission. While I served as County Commissioner, doing communications, and working on my Master’s, I was ordered to active duty and deployed overseas from the National Guard for almost a year. I was sent to a combat zone in East Africa, where we did counter-terrorism operations, defended and protected U.S. embassies, and prevented another Benghazi. In 2017, I returned from the deployment. In 2018, I was reelected to Clay County Commission, and in 2019, I graduated with my Master’s. I’ve been teaching for the last 3 years. This year, I took off from teaching, so I could run for Congress, and balance also being County Commissioner, and being in the Florida National Guard as a Company Commander.” (I started laughing. I was shocked to hear how much Gavin did, especially during college. He joked around saying how tired he was from discussing his life, and maybe that’s why he’s always in pain.)
2. Question: “As a history teacher, you probably know the issues with my generation not being properly taught politics or history. What can be done to help this issue?”
Answer:
“The curriculum is one part. We need to incorporate a discussion in reading of books like Animal Farm, so people understand the horrors of socialism, communism, collective thinking. We must teach what it means to be an American, and what makes America exceptionally unique. We need good teachers, and I encourage conservatives to teach history. Even if it’s for a few years, be willing to go into the classroom to teach. One thing I know is that my students have a basic understanding of the challenges of socialism and know American history because I taught them. On the end of year exam, my civic students got a 98% pass rate. The state pass rate average is 76% (Wow.); my students had a 98% pass rate. It was only one student, out of 65 or 70 students, who didn’t pass. That’s evidence they understood the basics. We need conservative teachers. I think school choice is another key component. I taught at a charter school. I think parents deserve the choice of where their kids get an education. Public schools should not have the monopoly in public education.”
3. Question: “What grade did you teach?”
Answer:
“Last year I taught 7th and 8th grade civics and US history. The year before, I taught 10th and 11th civics and US history. And the year before that, I taught leadership in ROTC.”
4. Question: “What led you to run for city councilman and County Commissioner?”
Answer:
“City Council was just the idea of getting involved in my community, and try to make a difference. County commissioner, the seat was available, and I felt like our community was underrepresented at times, so we needed someone who understood rural communities and would fight for them, and that’s what inspired me to run. It was also my belief we need good people in government, and the longer I've been involved, the more I've realized that government isn't the solution, but more the problem.”
5. Question: “I understand you were the youngest city councilman for Clay county. Did you find being younger than most politicians worked against you?”
Answer:
“There were definitely challenges associated with it. Sometimes, I had to convince people to let me into events that they thought I wasn’t allowed to be at. I’d have to show them my ID to verify who I was. There were moments where people would make condescending comments about my youth and inexperience. The key is to keep your eye on the ball, focus on what you’re passionate about, and how to make a difference. The truth is that throughout our history, we’ve had young people who stepped up to the plate and made a difference. Many of the founding fathers were young when they helped craft the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, and other founding documents. Young people have held a key role in shaping our country from the foundation.”
6. Question: “Socialism is popular, as Leftists only see the supposed good. How can we educate our Leftist counterparts about the truth of socialism?”
Answer:
“I think the way we explain it is important. I'd tell my students, ‘Do you want a big, overreaching government involved in all aspects of your life, telling you what to do at every turn? That’s what socialism is.’ and they'd say no. Supposedly, socialism means everything’s fair and equal; reality is at the tip of a gun, the government could take your things and give it to someone else. Redistributing wealth means equal poverty and requires mass government control. I feel like liberals and conservatives agree that government has no role in personal lives, but liberals don’t realize that policies they advocate for (i.e. universal healthcare) create mass government involvement. It might sound nice to have universal healthcare, but in reality, it requires huge government involvement. I certainly don’t want D.C. deciding who my doctor is."
7. Question: “Why do you support President Trump?”
Answer:
“Because he’s a fighter. He’s willing to engage in pushing back. For years, we had conservatives who were well-meaning but backed down. Trump’s a fighter, and he’s been effective. He appointed conservative judges, he stood up for religious freedom, he fought for prolife legislation. He fought to protect the unborn. He’s kept America safe around the world without involving us in additional foreign wars. He’s reinstated this idea of deterrence. Look at all his policies, the booming economy, taxes are low: it’s hard to argue when you see the success of conservative principles. The challenge he faces is he needs reinforcement, which is why I’m running. He doesn’t need people who only say they support him. He needs people fighting in Congress sending him conservative-based policies to sign, which keep our country safe and great. Congresspeople might give lip-service in supporting the President, but won’t roll up their sleeves to stand up and get things done. That’s why I use the term ‘fight’ as opposed to saying, ‘I support our President.’ I think we need to help Trump fight as his reinforcement.” (I joked that he led me into my next question.)
8. Question: “So you chose to run for Congress to fight alongside Trump?”
Answer:
“That’s exactly why I chose to run. Congressman Yoho did a great job, but now that he’s retiring, we need someone to carry that legacy. We need a fighter, not someone who’s going to D.C. to be part of a country club or collect a paycheck or be somebody, but someone who views it as a deployment of some sorts. I was deployed while Trump was in office, and I saw him fighting terrorism. I view going to Washington as a deployment to do battle. I’ve heard Washington is a war zone, and a battle for conservative values. Having military experience and fighting for conservatism in Clay County gives me an advantage the other candidates don’t have.” (I told Gavin he led into my next question again.)
9. Question: “Many people have joined the race for Ted Yoho's seat. Why should people vote for you? What makes you different from the other candidates running?”
Answer:
“I have the combination of military and educational experience, as well as a proven track record that says you can trust my word. You don’t have to trust what I might do. You can look at my record and see what I have done. I'll fight for the 2nd Amendment, I'll fight for life, I'll fight for religious and speech freedoms, and the values we hold. I’m going to keep taxes low, and I’ll find ways to reduce government. Again, you know that’s true from my record. I’ve taken what Floridians want, stood alone if necessary, but also built a coalition if needed. Sometimes you’ve got to stand alone, and sometimes you need to know if you need help from others to get things done.”
10. Question: “I recently wrote a guest post about needing term limits; I saw a video where you said you support term limits. Care to explain your support?”
Answer:
“Absolutely. I actually became a bigger advocate for term limits being in office. Even though there's the few who do well for 20–30 years, at some point you won't bring the best ideas. If we want to drain the swamp, we have to limit all politicians. I haven’t taken a pledge of a specified number, because people like Nancy Pelosi haven’t. What I advocate for is USA’s term limits Amendment, which Senator Cruz and Governor DeSantis supports. To fight for a Constitutional amendment, so all members of Congress are term limited. That’s how we drain the swamp. We have to term limit all politicians in D.C. If we get everyone on that even-playing field, we can drain the swamp, and what we get is citizen legislators who are willing to serve for a season then return home. My heart has always been, and always will be, in this area. It’s not in D.C. The ‘swampiness’ in D.C. is something I don’t like, and that’s why I call this a deployment. But somebody’s got to go and fight for our values, and I feel a sense of duty and obligation to continue my service by serving in this way and putting on a different uniform.”
11. Question: “What's one piece of advice you'd give to young conservatives, like myself, about being involved in politics?”
Answer:
“I would say don’t wait to make a difference. You can start right now. People will say ‘You’re too young,’ or ‘Wait your turn.’ Just jump in! Whether it’s campaigning, involving yourself in an issue that matters to you, leadership in a campus club, or even running for local politics, get involved. I’m always inspired when I see people running for local politics. And if you lose, oh well! You’ll be able to make change happen. If you bring fresh ideas to the table, even if you lost, it changes the process. So I would encourage young people to get involved now, don’t wait.”

I already said this to him, but I'll say it again. Thank you, Gavin, for reaching out and giving me this opportunity. Thank you to my readers for reading! Comment your thoughts of the interview!

Taking Unnecessary Classes in School

Anyone who went to college probably had to take classes that were irrelevant to their degree or career path. This seems like a minor inconvenience, but there's more to this. Taking unnecessary classes, specifically general education courses, doesn't help college students, but holds them back. The same goes for high school. One student may flourish in U.S. history, another excels in mathematics, and a different student thrives in writing. Most students know their career paths, but taking unnecessary classes makes it that much harder for them to succeed. Taking gen ed, or any unnecessary courses, doesn't help students.

Most pointless classes are usually Leftist run. My sister has completed her first semester in college. One class she had to take is "What is a good life?" UF requires all freshmen to take this. Either you take this course, or you can take a “Quest course,” which fulfills the requirement. There are multiple quest courses, like Lying and Deception, Fairytales, Idea of Happiness (which my sister took), etc. Her class was very Leftist run. None of what was taught in class had ANYTHING to do with Accounting (her major), yet she was required to take this class. These Leftist professors are shoving their biases down freshmen’s throats, which leads to more Leftists. Another issue is how these classes can drop students’ GPA. If a student is looking to go to medical school, that may not happen because they got a B+ in a stupid, but difficult class. These classes 1) cause a student’s GPA to unnecessarily drop (compared to when you’re in a class like Business Finance), which 2) can hold students back. Taking unnecessary classes hurts academic success.

Because these classes have nothing to do with your career path, ultimately, its money being wasted. What skills do you gain from knowing what is a good life? It’s also a waste of time and resources. Instead of those first two years being wasted on useless classes, why not have relevant classes or a work experience program. Students would be able to either get experience or get knowledge to help them. Why do colleges teach skills already taught in high school? Students don’t need reminders; they need to⁸ be taught information related to their major. College is expensive. In Florida, college costs a little over $6,000 per year, so by the end of two years, a student will owe $12,000+, and the money used here will be wasted on courses that are irrelevant to a student’s major. As previously stated, why not allow students to find courses that are tailored to their career choices?

I was inspired by Mahgdalen Rose’s video, where she focused on how high schools limit students’ capabilities by making them take courses they don’t need. It falls in line with what I am discussing. Who uses the Pythagorean Theorem in their everyday life? Who dissects animals on a daily basis (unless you’re Jeffery Dahmer)? I would assume few do. Why don’t high schools let students take courses that relate to their field of study? In the video, she explains how she excelled in writing and history, but fell short in math and science. One in the same for me. Instead of making students take all these classes, they should have the freedom of choosing their desired classes. Dual enrollment helped me realize what I wanted to do scholastically, not high school.

Something I want to emphasize on is why student debt is so high. Colleges charge a ton of money; students waste their money taking these classes! Bernie Sanders, Ilhan Omar, and Elizabeth Warren constantly complain how student debt should be cancelled, but did it occur to them that a reason is because students’ money is wasted on these classes? If they really wanted to help student debt, they would encourage colleges to get rid of gen ed classes that don’t help students in their degree. A college student will have thousands owed by the time they’re done with only the first two years in college, and they’ll still have another two years they have to pay thousands. Why not make it so students can save money and not go into debt by removing these classes? Or that students take gen ed courses aimed towards their degree? Excellent solutions!

Colleges are a money-making business. “These classes will help students discover what they want to do,” they say. Colleges have students take these courses so they can get money, while students pay hundreds for this. If colleges were concerned about students’ education, they wouldn’t have them take these classes, and let them focus on their major specifically, like I said? If a student is a business major, why make them take science courses? Colleges just want the money, so they push for 4-year degrees. That’s a major problem schools have, but considering they’re mainly Leftist, it’s really not shocking they only care about making money. That’s why the solution I provided isn’t considered in discussing debt.

Students shouldn’t have to take unnecessary classes. And it's not just colleges doing this, its middle and high school: one middle school textbook has their students learning kinky and provocative sex. It just causes them to lose money, time and resources. Where they could be getting knowledge for their careers, they’re wasting time in these pointless classes. Student debt is so high largely because students have to waste money in these classes. If any politician really wants to solve the crisis, they would consider all of what I said, and have colleges remove these classes from a student’s degree audit. Instead of holding students back, let them focus on what matters: classes that will provide knowledge and skills for the field they are studying.

What do you think of these types of classes? Are they unnecessary? Comment what you think!

Bad news: Trump was impeached by the House. Read this: https://youngpatriotrising.blogspot.com/2019/12/impeachment-hoax.html. Don't worry. It's very upsetting, but it's in God's hands!
Good news: I finished this semester with a 3.5 GPA! A in Family Communication, B+ in International Business & Sales Management!

Violence is NEVER the answer

Recently, a video came out where a 14-year-old boy was viciously attacked by students on his bus for wearing a Trump 2020 hat. Five students grabbed him, and beat him over and over again. His injuries landed him in the hospital. His mother didn't even know he was being bullied, because he hid it from his family. Warning: the video is graphic. Where have we hit as a society, where a student can't wear a hat to support his President, even if others disagree? This is a tragedy. Everyone on that bus was a bully. Not only were his attackers cowardly, but the students who recorded Tyler being attacked were cowards as well. And where was his bus driver?

You know, I wouldn't be so upset at this, but this has become the "norm" in our society. Someone can viciously attack and injure someone based on who they support. This new “norm” comes from one place: The Left. If a conservative or a Republican were to do this to a Democrat, I would condemn it. I don't support physically/mentally hurting those with differing opinions But these attacks always come from the Left, and the Left rarely comments on this. You never heard AOC condemn the attacks at the ICE facility, where the shooter wrote in his manifesto that AOC inspired him to commit this crime. What about Antifa attacks, where conservatives are injured? For people who claim that “words hurt more than anything,” they're silent when it comes to violence against others. Who could forget what happened to Andy Ngo, the journalist who ended up in the hospital for reporting at an Antifa rally? I would hope both sides can agree on this: violence is NEVER the answer.

We all have differing opinions. That’s fine. This girl I follow, Lindy, tweeted this about politics. She tagged me saying I gave her the idea for the tweet. That's how things should be. You say you don't like Trump. Okay. I support Trump. That's okay. Even this guy I was partners with for a group project is a Leftist. He knows I'm a Trump supporter, and we're still good acquaintances. He congratulated me when I said that I hit 5,000 views on my blog. What happened to Tyler shows the evils of society, where someone can attack you for having a different viewpoint. This reminds me of what happened to a student at UF. Daniel Weldon wore Trump gear for the 4th of July. While out to get food, students verbally and physically attacked him. Daniel was a linebacker for the Gators, and I've met him. You can tell he played football. Nice guy, and he said he wouldn’t attack those girls because “he wasn’t raised that way.” He included, "It just goes to show there is a lot of people on the Left that don’t care or know anything about you, but they see one aspect of who you are and instantly have this blind hatred for you.”

Hurting someone because you hate who they support is not effective. The Left doesn't understand this, and the Right doesn't speak out against this enough. What does attacking someone prove? That the only way to get someone to listen to you is by causing them bodily harm? That's not a solution, that's fascism. Anyone who agrees is a coward. A huge reason this happened is the media and the Left lying about conservatives. Or the fact no major news outlet reported this? Calling us racists, Nazis, or white supremacists is normal for Leftists, but they don't realize how their words impact their listeners. Another part is the parents. Either the parents encouraged these behaviors, or they weren’t aware. Education doesn't only come from school; it comes from parents. Become better parents. Obviously, I blame the kids. Those kids are probably 14+. Every 14-year-old knows beating someone up is not okay. Society has a major problem on its hands, and it needs fixing. Violence isn’t the answer. Society must become a God-fearing nation again, because the further away God is, the more this will happen. Politics is just an opinion. Even if you disagree with someone's opinion, it doesn’t make it okay to hurt them. End of discussion.

Conservative Speakers on Campus

This past Thursday was an interesting experience. Why do you ask? Here's why. For those who didn't hear about it on the news or via my Twitter feed, Donald Trump Jr. and Kimberly Guilfoyle spoke at the University of Florida. Charlie Kirk also attended. ACCENT, a student run organization at UF known for bringing controversial speakers, invited them out. This way we could have freedom of speech, you know, considering conservative/Republican speech is not often heard on Leftist campuses. As most of you can assume, this made liberal snowflakes lose their (fill in the blank). Day 1 when the event was announced, these people planned a protest. Now, as I've mentioned before, I am getting heavily involved in politics. I volunteered to help the Republican groups on campus who worked the event. The protesters were there around 4:30 or 4:45. Everyone you could imagine was there. Black Lives Matter, March for our Lives, Planned Parenthood, and every other snowflake was at the protest. The event as a whole, probably had about 800-900 people. The rest were protesters. Some say up to 300, but I take it to possibly be 1,000. The protesters were outside and inside the event. It was insane! I mean, my goodness! People were saying that UF hasn't been in such an uproar since Richard Spencer was invited. Let me see if I got this straight. Richard Spencer is a clear white supremacist. The eldest son of the President is somehow equal to that? If you think so, you might as well clear out because you're not going to like what I'll say. So let's jump into what this experience was like.

I, for one, was so excited to hear Don Jr. speak. He is the son of the President. Who wouldn't be excited to hear him speak? Honestly, I was nervous to help volunteer with TPUSA and UFCRs, because I've never dealt with protesters. I didn't know if anyone was going to become violent, like you see on TV. Thankfully, it didn't reach that point. I got there, and met up with the team. We worked for a good while before getting in line for the event. I got there about 4:45, and as I said earlier, the protesters had literally been camping out. I see news channels and reporters speaking with students and attendees. About 5:30ish, the protesters start walking around chanting things like, "Hey, hey ho ho, Donald Trump has got to go!" or "F*** Trump!" Some were calling the President of UF, Kent Fuchs, a white supremacist. You get the picture. March for our Lives stood outside the venue holding up pictures from the victims of Parkland. Andrew Pollack tweeted that he was disgusted how these people would use his daughter's picture to push their hateful agenda. After the event, the pair did a quick Q&A session, then it was over. A woman, who I think was with Planned Parenthood or just clearly suffers TDS, had a puppet OF A UTERUS. It's only the Left you see this craziness!! After walking around the campus, they came back and stood a good distance away screaming at the attendees. Mind you, when I was in line, I saw people from Black Lives Matter in line, so I already knew this was going to be interesting. During the event, you could barely hear what Kimberly or Donald was saying because so many protesters were yelling. Some would yell "racist," many others would just yell "Bullsh*t." During those times, all the supporters would chant "USA," and we were louder than those whiny crybabies.

The speeches were amazing. Kimberly gave a touching story about her life, and how she got to where she is, and how grateful she is for this country and the President. She didn't put up with the babies that needed coddling because someone with differing opinions came to speak. Anytime Donald Trump was mentioned, the snowflakes started melting. Donald Trump Jr.'s speech was equally good. He spoke about his life, how he learned about socialism, and what his father is doing is helping America. Of course the protesters were still outside, staring down and cursing everyone in the event.
This is the tolerant Left. They claim to spread tolerance and acceptance, but if you're a Republican or conservative, forget about it! What I found so ironic is that you NEVER hear conservatives protesting Democrats. Anybody can name a time where a Trump supporter ripped off someone's Bernie hat, hit that person, spit on them, or chased them down? You haven't! This happened on the 10th at the Minnesota Trump rally. People saw a man wearing a Trump hat, chased him down, hit him, grabbed his hat, and burned it. THESE are the people claiming they're tolerant, yet you see things like this! If Bernie Sanders or Hillary Clinton came to speak at UF, do you really think conservatives would be lined up protesting? Of course not! Most Republicans have jobs and bills to pay, and don't expect the government to take care of everything. I mean, professors were cancelling classes for the protest! Seriously?! These people claim to be "open for debate," but at the event, they were anything but doing that. At one point, Donald Trump Jr. told a story how he went to socialist Czechoslovakia as a child. These people cheered for socialism, yet when Don Jr. said what he saw and experienced with socialism, they screamed "BULLSH*T!!!!"

Chomp, Chomp!
What I found so interesting about the Leftist students is when Donald or Kim would mention how low unemployment is for African Americans, Asian Americans, Hispanic Americans, etc., they couldn't even applaud that. I guess Black Lives only matter when they can be a victim for these people. They couldn't even acknowledge the fact of Americans being in danger from illegal immigration, or children being kidnapped by sex traffickers and taken past the border. Free speech is not equal for the Left. Also, I was very disappointed with security and police. So many protesters should have been kicked out. UF claimed that "anyone who caused a disturbance would be escorted out." There were only like two people who were kicked out! The rest remained, while the police ultimately did nothing. This one guy wouldn't shut up, and he told a worker he wasn't leaving, so 5 cops came. Guess what? None of them did anything. They just left the guy. UF wants to be "fair," but how fair is it if we can't hear the event?! So many students, who support Donald Trump and his family, wanted to attend the event, but these selfish protesters got the tickets. This is the hypocrisy of the Left. If you believe what they believe, you are fine. If you think even slightly conservatively, you don't deserve your basic 1st Amendment rights. UF sent out some crappy statement saying they would take measures to avoid any protesters. What a joke! I have incredible support for the police, but ultimately, they and the University of Florida implied, "Well, you've got your speakers here. You're on your own from there."

To conclude, other than the clear liberal bias on campus, the event was awesome! I mean, I know that this is the President's son and senior adviser, but there were so many news networks out there! Many members of UFCRs and TPUSA, as well as attendees, were on local news channels and national channels, like NBC or even Breitbart. I just found out that there was some famous journalist literally taking pictures of us, and reporting what we said. The one I have here on the left is from her Twitter. How sad must your life be that you consistently record college students with every little thing they do/say? Kimberly was on fire, and didn't bow down to these Leftist students who wanted to shut her down. Same for Don Jr. They spoke for those of us who can't say their political beliefs because of the Left. For the record, Don Jr. did speak of all the great accomplishments of his father these last few years, and exposed the Left's blatant lies. "If Donald Trump Jr. went and worked with Ukraine and brought back a certain amount of money, the media would be all over it!" How true is this?! Something funny in the Q&A portion was asking Don Jr. the best advice his dad gave him. He said he will listen to anything his dad advises him in: business, politics, family, etc. He said the only advice he never listens to his dad on is when his father says, “Don, you’re being too mean on the Internet.” Donald Trump is the last person who should be talking about that. I can’t wait for the other conservative speakers who are coming to speak at UF!

I am deeply disappointed and ashamed my fellow peers, people who got into one of the top universitiies in the country, behaved like this. That's an embarrassment to the University of Florida, but then again, Leftist universities encouraged this "entitled" behavior, so I guess it's time to look in the mirror.

The Shocking Revelation of Why I Started Writing

So, I figured I would do another "easy" topic so everyone, including myself, could get a break from politics. I shared a poll on my social media platforms to produce this idea. This way, I thought you guys could somewhat get to know me! The choice that remained most popular is "Why I Started Writing My Blog." Considering I literally Googled “Fun blog topics,” I was honestly surprised this choice came out on top. I talked to a few people and they all said they were interested as they think I'm an excellent writer (their opinions, not mine). I had shared in my introduction post about why I was started writing, but I figured I could go into more detail. This shouldn’t be an overly long discussion, but you’ll hear the story and explanation for why I started writing my blog. Every hero has their own backstory for why they do what they do. Here is mine.

I’ll have to go back to the Spring semester of this year at the University of Florida. So I’m a big Will Witt fan, and I kept nagging him to come and speak at UF. Many of his posts I would comment
something like, “Please come to UF!” Sure enough, I found out that the Turning Point USA chapter at UF is hosting him on his tour. I went to hear him speak, and I tell you, it was a revelation. The speech was INCREDIBLE to hear. I was so impressed. I spoke with Will after the speech, and had an enjoyable talk with him. After that, I realized that I wanted to get involved with politics. I wanted, in a way, to be like Will Witt with spreading the truth. Now, obviously I didn’t want to be on the front lines like he is, as you see the real craziness, he and other young conservatives face. What I knew was that I enjoyed writing. So I realized that this might be my way of “reaching others and spreading the truth.” So that’s the history of how I created my blog. I have to thank Will Witt for that, because his speech was what inspired me to write.

Now, it’s not just Will Witt that kept the fire going for why I chose to keep writing. The reason I continued writing with such passion is I want people to feel something, and think about that topic. Once my blog started picking up wind, I have had people comment on my Twitter, on the actual blog, or DM me saying how they like my blog. Some have said that it’s different from other blogs they’ve read, and how I present information to back up my opinions/views is eye-opening. I’ve had people say that this is the best or one of the best conservative blogs out there. This pushes me to write to the best of my ability. What also pushes me to write is spreading the truth. Every day, facts and the truth is being shut down by the Left. Not only that, but the Left picks and chooses who they will or will not listen to. I've mentioned Mahgdalen Rose. She has been relentlessly criticized for being "too young to be in politics." So pretty much anyone who isn't "old enough" to have an opinion should have an adult hold our hands, so we can never grow up and have our own opinions? If a Republican said that about David Hoggs or any young Leftist, there would be huge backlash. As much as I think he's wrong on a number of topics, I would NEVER say he couldn't have a political opinion. Everyone has the opinion of what side they choose! Even though I'm young, I wanted to get the truth out to others. Just a fun fact: writing was a major weakness of mine. I had to be tutored for years to help me improve my writing skills. Who knew this weakness would become a major strength of mine? I guess that's why I always do well in classes that have writing!

The main goal for my blog is either to change your mind on certain topics, or to get you thinking “Maybe she’s onto something.” I'm not trying to force my views on you, but show you what I think. I can't change your mind, but telling you certain facts may help! That's what I hope for. Sometimes I may use my blog to write out my feelings. Or I will hear something in the news and want to write about what I think. I would also like to add this. Everyone is passionate about something. You have something you are passionate about. Different members of my family are passionate about certain things like traveling, history, or math. A friend of mine is passionate about makeup. Another friend is passionate about health and fitness. And another friend is passionate about the pro-life movement. For me, I never knew exactly what I’m passionate about. I could never solve this, so I assumed I had no passion. After Will Witt, I knew what it was: writing/blogging about politics. I knew I want to make an impact on people, and that’s why I started this blog. Because I love writing, this became a no-brainer! So now you know! I started writing this blog because I wanted to spread the truth as much as possible. This is my passion. I will never complain about what I do. When I first started making this blog, I read that you need to be passionate to write. Thankfully, there’s no problem there!

NEWSFLASH: So, I just want to clarify one thing: I start classes next week, on the 20th. I’m entering my senior year of college, and have a full schedule of classes. I’m taking 4 classes, which includes 2 core business classes and 2 electives, as well as becoming more involved with the TPUSA chapter at UF, the Christian Business Leaders club (also at UF), and the Young Republicans in my county. I’ve got a full schedule! I’m obviously not going to stop writing, but it may not be as many articles. For example, I may have to only do one discussion a week. Unless it’s a short one, then I might do two. Don’t hold your breath yet. If things become too hectic, it may be every other week. Whatever I do, I will let you guys know. As much as I love writing, my senior year IS here, and I intend on doing even better this year. So thanks for understanding, and thanks for reading! Also, Blake Shelton came out with a new song today! Hell Right featuring Trace Adkins. Go check it out!

Giving Prisoners The Right To Vote

Original Image from

poll-69-percent-of-voters-
say-prisoners-shouldnt-be-allowed-to
I've been meaning to write about this, but many other topics came to mind for me to write about, but I have chosen this topic for this week's discussion. Bernie Sanders, a few months back, announced that people who are in prison should have the right to vote. Not only those with a few months or years, those who are in prison for LIFE. He believes that "Under the Constitution, everyone has the right to vote." Some Republicans and Democrats are very much on board with this, while those of us with common sense think this is a HORRIBLE IDEA. The minute you committed the crime, you chose your destiny. Somehow, I should be "on board" with a convicted killer voting for what happens to my future? Because let's be honest: if those who vote are in prison for life, what happens to the rest of the country doesn't really affect them. For this discussion, I'm going to talk about why prisoners (i.e. serial rapists/killers - not getting out of prison) should not have the right to vote. More specifically, I don’t think someone should be able to vote from prison.

Bernie said, "In my state, what we do is separate. You're paying a price, you committed a crime, you're in jail. That's bad," he said. "But you're still living in American society and you have a right to vote. I believe in that, yes, I do." I found this on an article on Business Insider. I'll leave the link at the end. He also believes someone like the Boston Marathon Bomber, who set off 2 bombs at the Boston Marathon, which killed 5 total and injured several others, should be able to vote. I don’t know why people listen to this old fool on politics, considering he claims to be a socialist, yet owns 3 houses! Hypocrisy from the Left at its finest. Somehow this murderer "deserves the right to vote?" What about his victims? Didn't they deserve the right to vote and the right to life? But now they can't, because of one person's selfish decision. Why should he get the right to vote when these people LOST their rights from murder? Watch this video from TPUSA of a Boston Marathon Bombing survivor who literally states the obvious: MURDERERS SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO VOTE. EVER!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h_DvCo4LR3E

Honestly, I feel like this shouldn't even be a discussion. A murderer having the right to vote? A rapist having the right to vote? Why are we even talking about this! Graham Allen said it well, and I left the link to the video: under the Constitution, we are guaranteed "Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness." That's the order. Convicted killers do not care about life, the most important of all these, because without the first, you can't have the rest. Convicted killers or convicted rapists lost their rights when they committed the crime. Even though prison means you gave up your rights (1A, 2A, 4A), life is NOT bad in prison. You get three meals a day, a roof over your head, showers, television, etc. Life is still good! You're just in prison. Prison, defined by Cambridge University, is a place where criminals are kept as a punishment. When you commit a crime, you chose to give up these freedoms. No going around it.

The main issue I, as well as MANY others have with this ideology, is that NO one considers the victims. The survivors all say this is an awful idea, so why is this still relevant? Those who were brutally murdered cannot say, “Hey, this person killed me, so they shouldn’t have any rights to vote, since I lost mine!” Instead, you’ve got a joke of a politician like Sanders who implies, “Screw those who died! Let the evil men and women vote!” How insulting. Not only this, but it also insults those who serve to protect this country from acts of terrorism, like law enforcement, the Navy, the Army, etc. Instead of combating terrorism, both outside and inside the U.S., Democrats want America to be vulnerable to terrorist attacks. Milo Yiannopoulos said it correctly, America didn’t learn from 9/11. If we keep going on this path of supporting Ilhan Omar (or anyone like her), and care about open borders or letting convicted felons vote, worst versions of terrorism WILL happen. The Pulse Nightclub shooting is a prime example.

Now, let me make one thing clear: those for minimal charges, I think, could have the possibility of having their voting rights repealed. Those are likely to be the ones who turn over a new leaf. Those who murder or rape innocent people DO NOT deserve these rights. If they’re lucky to not get the death penalty, they should suffer in prison for the rest of their life. Their victims will not be able to speak against what was done to them. I’ve asked on Twitter and some people said they think if the person has rehabilitated, they should get that right restored. I can understand that, but in my opinion, if you do the crime, YOU chose to give up those rights. No one took them away, but your selfish decision. Some people think if you commit small crimes and are more likely get out, they think that person should be able to vote. Those who commit large crimes, like murder, do not deserve the right to vote.

Many agree that the reason Democrats are pushing for this is because they are desperate for votes. That’s why they want 16-year olds, illegal aliens, and prisoners to have the “right” to vote. Because what do these groups have in common? They are easily influenced, and easy to push in the Democrats’ direction. It’s all about what will keep these people in power and keep the money rolling in. At the end of the day, the Democrats have an underlying ideology for America: to have the people COMPLETELY dependent on the government, and certain people (i.e. Bernie Sanders, Nancy Pelosi, Maxine Waters, Chuck Schumer) AKA the elites, be in control of the people and wealth. This next election isn’t about Republican versus Democrat; it’s about Freedom versus Oppression. But going back to my original point, I think someone who committed small acts, who will probably be out in a few years’ time, could be able to vote., knowing they are rehabilitated. Those who committed horrible acts, again, DO NOT DESERVE THE RIGHT TO VOTE. You are free to think how you want about this issue, but this is how I feel.

NEWSFLASH: Daniel Weldon, a student at the University of Florida (my University), was enjoying the 4th of July with his friends, and decided to get something to eat. Upon entering the restaurant, these girls (I think 4-8), as well as some guys, just started cursing him out, calling him awful names, shoving/pushing him, etc. For what you may ask? For wearing a MAGA hat and pin. They verbally and physically attacked him, while the staff just stood there and did nothing. When he tried to report this to the police, they honestly didn’t care, as this was a regular occurrence. THIS is why the Left cannot win. Attacking a guy who wasn’t causing ANY trouble, just because his hat and pin offended you? And then the police and staff of the restaurant not doing a thing about it! Even patrons who had opposing views on politics or observed what happened said they hated how he was treated, and intended on voting Republican because of this type of behavior from the Left. I’m glad to see he wasn’t seriously hurt. I just wanted to mention him because I was flabbergasted.
